“I love photography for its artistic possibilities, and its power to preserve a child’s smile of 60 years earlier for later generations using but light and receptors,” Nicole Toesca enthusiastically exclaims. Her photograph of a spontaneous moment between boy and cat does just that; an admirer called it “pure joy.” A part-time resident of her family’s medieval village of Saorge, Nicole enjoys photographing the energetic street life of Europe.
Formal studies include darkroom technique at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C., and workshops with Canadian author and pioneer of photo impressionism, Freeman Patterson.
Award winning fine art photographer, including several at San Diego’s annual International Exhibition of Photography, she was a featured artist at San Diego ArtWalk 2004. Nicole’s articles and photos are published in magazines. Her images grace private and corporate collections in the U. S. and Europe.
Nicole exhibits solo and with the highly regarded Photo Arts Group and Digital Art Guild of San Diego. She is available for people and pet portraits, and photographs artist artwork. A member of the American Society of Media Professionals (ASMP), she is expanding her commercial and freelance work, including event and stock photography.
