Linda Thorne has a B.S. in fine art [painting and sculpture] and a M.S. in biology. Art in its various forms has interested her all of her life and she has pursued it when time permitted. Her professional live was spent in various laboratories as a research scientist in molecular biology and plant physiology.
Linda is now retired and spending much of her time painting on acrylic and oil. She lives in Fallbrook and on Palomar Mountain. Most of her recent paintings are abstracted representation.
Currently Linda is taking lessons from Rich Stergulz, Mary Tomaskevitch and attending various workshops. She participates in a family sponsored art event, “Art of the Lawn”, in Logan, Utah each summer. This is a non-profit fund raiser that supports the arts and libraries in Cache Valley, Utah.
Painting for Linda is about saving the impressions, moods and feelings of what she sees. Painting becomes a dialogue between her and her canvas.
