Carol Perko has been painting in the style of realism all her life. She is completely self taught, having had no formal training. Only in the last few years has she been actively exhibiting her paintings, and has won various awards.
Specializing in portraits, pets, other animals and still-life in oils came after moving to San Diego in 1986. Most portraits are done by commission and are in private collections. Some of her work is now available as giclee's.
Not only a talented painter, Carol is the owner of Carnahan Jewelers. She's been designing jewelry for about 20 years. She has a background of studies with GIA and fine art. She creates her own designs and makes custom pieces for clients. Most pieces offered are one-of-a- kind designer pieces. These pieces are made with the lost wax process. No mass production. Her jewelry has been on commission in several jewelry galleries around San Diego, Del Mar and in Sun Valley, Idaho. Carol’s jewelry and paintings are on view and available in the Brandon Gallery.
